>>44489947It's not that it's broken, it's that when you see Gyarados, you know "he will use a physical attack against me," so you plan accordingly and use Reflect or switch to a bulky water type, because even if he was running a special set, his special attack is low enough that a non STAB thunderbolt won't get a KO. If he's wearing that item, however, you switch in your Milotic and eat thunderbolt off of 125SAtk, and that might KO, and now you're down a Pokemon because of a one turn surprise. There are certain givens that can be assumed normally, and that item would turn every match into a guessing game until you figured out which Pokemon was running the item.
