I generally just play through every generation once casually and stick around if I like the comp. Favorite casual gen is probably 3. While I do enjoy the games I don't replay them.
Competitively, I play post split gens that gravitate towards offense (5 and 7). I don't tourneyfag, just ladder. I've gotten decent placings on the leaderboard for both in the past, but I'm not a great builder so I wasn't able to do it with my own unique creation. Generally I just copypasted a smogon team and made minor adjustments to evs and sets, maybe change 1 mon to a very similar one depending on how I feel the metagame is like.
