DS Pokemon most definitely does NOT need a remake. Not because it's bad (Gen IV and V are the best actually) but because theres nothing to be gained. The previous 3 remakes were all of Gens that had had important gameplay changes since the originals. DPP however was the last time the core gameplay was changed in any meaningful capacity or any noticeable amount of older Pokemon got new evolutions. Plus the hardware on the DS was advanced enough Gen IV-V didn't have to make sacrifices like the older games on the pitiful Gameboy hardware did. All you would be getting is a 3D graphics reskin.

LGPE was literally just a 3D reskin, without even adding mechanics like held items and abilities but at least they added the Fairy type. No Kanto regional variants tho which is SAD.

i have a bad feeling that because of how they omitted everything that wasnt gen 1, even gen 4 evos of kanto mons, that from now on in remakes, we wont be getting more that what was originally in the games. so no more gen 4 evos in gen 2 remakes/etc

To be fair said evolutions (and all gen 3-4 mons period) were limited to after the Elite Four. There were no Dusk Stones to evolve Murcrow or Misdreveous in Johto for example. On the other hand GSC and HGSS work differently than other entries in the franchise because becoming champion isn't really the end like it is in every other game. Cant, especially the Gen 4 version, is so big and filled with shit complete with a whole new quest for 8 badges that you could say Red is the actual final boss instead of Lance.

ORAS already was pretty useless except for updating mechanics and adding Sinnoh evolutions of gen 3 mons. DPP remake would be completely useless then.
