Pokemon now includes a friendship simulator as a side game, you can befriend one character per NPC type that you can contact through a local phone applicaion (like pokenav, gear, x-transiver, etc).

You can know them better through many different mini adventures boosting you friendship if you know how to be a good friend.

The higher the friendship, you can have with them better battles, trades and items.
