In BW2 I boxed it to use a Dream Radar Slowpoke as a starter. In X I boxed Froakie to use Slowking. In Sun I boxed Popplio to use Slowbro. In SwSh, Slowpoke wasn’t out yet so I boxed Sobble to run an all dragon team. Now that Slowpoke is in though I’m replaying using the G-Slowpoke from the beginning of the game.

I like Slowpoke.

hypothetically if I played every game for the first time right now, I would box them exactly half of the time
not that I necessarily dislike all the starters in a gen (though I absolutely do hate gen 8 starters), there's just other Pokemon I like more

Never. The one time I tried it I replaced an Emboar with a Chandelure and it just didn't feel right, I never completed that playthrough.

I box my starter in gens 4, 6, 8. In the other gens I use 1:any, 2:typhlosion, 3:any, 5:any, 7:decidueye/incineroar
