I like Scyther more, Scizor looks like it should have been a separate Pokemon. Like a rival to Scyther.

I think they should have kept him green at least, like in the beta, so he would look more like he's related to Scyther.

Volcarona is a top pick right now in gen 8 Ubers because of dynamax. Before gen 8 I don't think it really saw any usage though, no.

Playing SS now. Heading to face Chuck. Was able to get a Scyther with Adament nature and technician. Taught him aerial ace and I'm thinking about grinding voltorb flip for swords dance.

Should I evolve him to Scizor before Chuck or after?

I think Scizor being red makes more sense. It shows that he’s covered in the metal coat you use to get him.

After. Keep the Aerial Ace STAB and the speed bonus. Scizor is slower and would take neutral damage from physical moves.

Honestly though, the music was hard. Aside from Unova, Alola and Hoenn, I didn't notice most of the regions' soundtracks aside from one or two pieces. But the pieces I remember are great.

I don't know who Matthew is, but soloing a Champion with a fully evolved Pokemon isn't that impressive. Some guy beat Leon with a Magikarp.

Exactly how strong is swords dance? I managed to get the TM after grinding at voltorb flip. Now I'm a little worried that my scyther is OP now and the rest of my playthrough will be a cake walk

It should get a slight base stat boost and Scyther should get a slight reduction. Steelix has 125 more total base stats than Onix and they both use Metal Coat to evolve.
