Tell me about your first pokemon battle against another person

It was around 1999, my friend and I were basically the only guys into pokemon in our class. This is going to sound weird, but the whole class was invited over to our 6th grade teacher's house for a Christmas party and this was the opportunity for us to finally play against each other since either of us were comfortable bringing our gameboys to school. At the party, I linked my red Gameboy Pocket to his OG big-fat Gameboy and we battled. I honestly think he had a better team than me, he had a Dragonite, but I cheesed him and got lucky Fissures, taking the win.
