Rock is good at taking physical hits, it just has a lot of lot of type interactions every which way. Including a huge stack of weaknesses.

If there was a relatively minmaxed Atk/Spd specialising Rock/Ground type with Accelerock it would probably one of the best offensive threats in the game. Rock/Ground is shit defensively but amazing offensively, it’s just all our current options are slow af. Banded Rhyperior is one of the best Trick Room mons available tho
