>>44515093>"It's just a media talking point"Except that it's actually a fact that you can check. We're currently not allowed in hardly anywhere; we can't even cross our immediate borders. Only Americans who can travel more places than that anywhere are people who were abroad in the first place.
>Literally just deflecting to immigrantsLaughable. Especially since you opened up by talking about shifting the blame. Here's the thing, dumbass- powerless people looking to better their lives aren't the problem. The employers, who have all of the power in this transaction, who are willing to kick your ass to the curb and pay them sub-standard wages are.
>Donating other peoples' money"Taxation is theft." Except it's fucking not. Paying taxes is literally how we perpetuate our society, because the services and infrastructure that we decide to have need to be paid for somehow.
How do taxes work effectively? The more that you tax the people at the bottom, the harder it is for them to get by; but it's okay to tax them less because they spend a greater percentage of their earnings to start with, stimulating the economy in the process. Logically, you tax at progressive rates, meaning that the more you make, the higher your tax rates are. Because the richer you are, not only are you going to be more comfortably able to pay taxes that perpetuate the systems that allowed you to get that rich to start with, but because the richer you are, the less need you have for all that money, which means it's just going to be sitting around causing economic stagnation.
You're right, however, that the government is corrupt as shit. And you know damned well that corruption comes from moneyed interests paying politicians off with legal bribery (as donations). That's people, businesses, with shittons of money gumming up the works on purpose so that they can stay on top, even though it's not only morally bankrupt, but economically stupid to do in the long run for countless reasons.
