I'll never understand the need for a hard turn-based RPG. I get the idea of strategy to make your numbers bigger than the opponent, but Pokemon is one of the worst games to do this with, but easy seems to be a negative for some reason. If Pokemon doesn't do it for you in the challenge department, find another turned based RPG with something you're looking for.

I just grinded to get the TMs. I didn't realize they were that powerful. My Jolteon OHKO almost everything with thunderbolt

My scyther is the same thing with aerial ace. I actually bought swords dance TM but haven't taught it to him since I thought he's way OP already

I'm not looking for it to be hard but some adversity would be nice. Otherwise it feels too easy and not fun

Sacred/Storm's mid game (Johto) is noticeably easier than its early game (Johto).
You'll be singing a different tune once you get to Pryce and beyond.

Play Digimon World DS or Digimon World Dawn/Dusk. Both for the same console as HG/SS, though you could play Digimon World 3 for the PlayStation if you don't mind using Mednafen or whatever you use to emulate PS1. They are all basically the same game and the precursors to Cyber Sleuth. DWDS is the easiest to play so I recommend to start with that one and if you liked it you can move to Dawn/Dusk and later to DW3.

I have played Dawn, Is very fun and a lot of monsters, but is even easier than a pokemon game.
