>>44523269>Mate, they know they'll earn more from DP remakes at $60 a pop, than trying to sell another $30 DLC pack for an older game.Given how much SS sold compared to Let's Go, or really most other Pokemon games, I wouldn't be too sure. On the other hand I genuinely don't know how well the DLC sold compared to a third version, and I'm no market analyst, so I could be wrong there.
>Much less, they already stressed no game from now on would contain a full National 'Dex.
Look, they've lied so much already I can't be sure. Plus, DP remakes would clearly use the Gen 8 engine and with GF actually giving out free updates that do things other than fix bugs, they have less of an excuse than ever not to update the games anyway. Unless the DP remake engine gets too fucked, which I doubt given that SS handles Let's Go model and animation data fairly well.
>What better way to sell more Home subs than having the 'dex split between 4 games and 2 DLC packs?Home isn't where the real money is being made, your argument for remakes over more DLC was stronger. I'm not saying DP remakes won't happen this generation, I'm just not expecting them next year when they're clearly struggling with the hardware. Maybe 2022, could even be next generation but I doubt it. Hell, if they stretch this generation out long enough, they can maybe get a few more subline imprints out of it, at least from a "to sell toys" standpoint. But we'll see how it turns out.
