Simple question, its not a matter of how an actual Pokemon that you list will act. The assumption here is that the Pokemon (as you can only pick a pokemon) you list is in fact mutually interested in you and wants to marry you. You pick a Gardevoir? It's interested in you, you have a healthy relationship that has taken time and was not just *snap* magically married and magically waifued/husbandoed up. You cannot blame people for answering the simple question.

Meaning its a mature Pokemon who can say no, are not forced into shit, build a friendship, and make the choice to date you. While this is all fantastical and what not, most people do try and assume that the Pokemon in question has honest autonomy.
