>>44530327The company that makes the show got into financial dire straits a few years ago, as a result, they had to resort to nostalgiafag pandering to absurd degree(imagine pokemon but actually justified). Mostly by 1)making each season be around collectible toys based on previous ultramen or monsters even if it makes no sense, 2)pushing new characters solely based on their relation in continuity with old characters or 3)reusing monster suits(all of them from the initial "golden age" of the franchise)
Now, these are obvious money saving tactics that might be understandable from a financial standpoint(they aren't as good as pokemon financially) but the fans insist this is them trying to respect the past.
Also, every single move made by Tsuburaya(the company behind ultraman) is praised no matter how inconsequential(or bad) it is and fans constantly need to point out how better than Toei(their competition) they suposedly are.
Not that the franchise is overall bad, far from it, but the fans praise everything in it solely because its attached to the brand.
