Its BST is pathetic for a relatively late-game single-stage mon, and its stat spread is horribly optimized.
Its best stat is SpDef, but it's terrible as a tank because it's too slow to use Protean defensively and Color Change is extremely easy to exploit.
My solution would be to change Color Change so that it activates before getting hit, and giving Kecleon an evolution with better offenses and better speed, but worse bulk.
That way Kecleon can be tanky with Eviolite and make use of being resistant to every type that resists itself, and its evolution can make use of Protean.
