Stop playing Pokemon entirely, don't listen to the morons above and play spinoffs or fangames, that's like saying you're giving up soda only to keep chugging diet soda.
I used to be the same as you where I couldn't imagine not playing the games or supporting the series somehow, when I first skipped USUM it was a big test of patience for me because I loved Pokemon so much, but as it turns out, when you take a step back from it all, you realize Pokemon fucking sucks as an adult.
Think about what you like about Pokemon, the exploration? The story? The characters? The monsters? Just about everything "good" about Pokemon has been done a million times better by another franchise.
Play other games, find another series you like, get into new things. I picked up a new, niche series on a whim and not only have I enjoyed it more than any Pokemon game, I know for a fact that since the game is niche, if I have a relevant complaint along with the rest of the fanbase, the devs will actually listen. It's pointless to be critical of Pokemon in 2020, SWSH sold like 18 million, they don't give a FUCK about what you have to say. You coming here and whining about how you want Pokemon to be good again doesn't do shit except make you depressed.
