I’ve used Pidgeot in all my kanto runs. In fact I always use the regional bird in all my playthoroughs. I even found a shiny Pidgeotto in let’s go.

I unironically have never not used Pidgeot in any game where the bird is accessible. It has been a staple of my team since Red was released and it has brought me nothing but happiness and good memories. It has been on damn near every single championship team I've ran and I make a point to use it at least once in every single E4/Champion/Rival battle and I have even gotten all golds in Emerald's Battle Frontier while using it. It is literally my own version of Pikachu. I have caught 3 shiny Pidgeys without even looking for them, granted they all had terrible natures, but I digress: Pidgeot is my wingman and nothing any of you do or say can convince me that any other bird is more worthy to occupy a tenured position on any of my teams.

Anyone who plays Pokemon for its awful number-crunching and not for its soul is a fool.

“Much later” my ass, they’re the same/ Spearow line is only later in XY and then Pidgey line wasn’t even in SM to even it out again.

Hell Spearow’s line gets all the flying moves earlier so it’s even better for bodying you’re rival.

spearow is also rarer, only being on a few select routes in gen 1 and gen 2.

Pidgeot also has a mega in gen 6-7

OP here. As much as I hate Pidgeot in terms of how it was design gameplay-wise, it does have a good design and I think it should be way better than it currently is. I could even justify it having a BST of like 525 or a little more, considering how relatively late it evolves for an earlygame-mon

Depends on what legend. Using box Legendaries is cringe, but sublegendaries are ok to use ingame and they're a good reward for how hard they are to catch

Nope, it has a solid bulk for an early route Pokémon, unlike Fearrow. If you're going to randomly plow through the games without giving a shit about EVs, it's Pidgeot the one you'll be getting, because no matter what you do, Fearrow will always be frail as fuck.

I could see it going either way but I count it as a Pewter catch. The way I see it, counting it as a Cinnabar catch would be like calling Lugia/Ho-oh a Goldenrod catch because you get the item you need to catch them in Goldenrod.
