Megas offered cool designs, played into actually good shonen anime tropes, added new types and abilities to a lot of pokemon that were shit before, is more interesting to battle against, and isn't some dumbass it just gets bigger because muh kaiju

dynamax in particular is so fucking idiotic looking, even the anime can't make them look cool, they just stand there firing lasers at each other, at least they aren't doing stupid ass knock off sentai poses but still, shity ugly gimmick vs cool fun gimmick

Also, a Pokemon getting a Mega doesn't count as a proper buff imo. Megas are entirely new Pokemon, functionality-wise. You also can't have more than one Mega on a team, meaning for example you can't use Charizard, Pinsir and Medicham on the same team without the team being unviable for OU

I liked how every battle you wouldn't be encouraged to dynamax in every battle and you actually had to think on when to use it in the gym battles.
Mega evolution on the other hand happened in every battle so there wasn't really a point in even using the normal forms, it could have just been a normal evolution.

I like megas much more than the max shit. While it's true that some megas are somewhat shitty, and others are broken as fuck, they are much more interesting since they give the pokemon a whole different functionality, and it actually can make some shitty mons like Beedrill pretty fun to use.
Some Gigantamax look really cool, like Kingler's, but it's literally just the same mon with more HP, so it's honestly is really boring, and there's still no point on using one, and it's just a huge waste of potential.

There were better ways of buffing Pokemon and giving them more functionality than giving them a Mega. A lot of Megas should've just been buffs to the base form of the Pokemon

Dynamax. Changes moveset, time-limited, no item opportunity cost, no mon choice opportunity cost. HP scaling is actually more interesting than general stat scaling. No flinch and other anti bullshit effects are a positive, megas don't do shit about that. Sure "just get bigger" on non-gmax mangs is aesthetically dull but still much better than megas where only a few mons have the option in the first place. There are no absurdly busted dynamax or gmax mons unlike megas.

dynamax is functionally better as a mechanic (lasts only a few turns, all pokemon can have it) but from the minute they were revealed ive thought that they look retarded. i prefer megas but they would have been better if they only lasted for a little while like dynamax.

Megas because the concept of making Pokémon super big is nonsensical, ruins immersion, and only changes 1 stat, as opposed to megas which are permanent in battle, change BSTs and abilities, and can actually make underdogs viable.

Mega is fine, but hate how unbalanced it is. We have mons that are given good stats and abilities that they need. However, other mons that needed a mega, but get shit stats and a useless ability or decent stats but useless ability drops it's usage. Dyna is lame since it gets bigger but at least everyone can use it, you can't switch, end in 3 turns, single target focus so balanced in doubles and you can't stall with it.
