Would you support game freak making a Light type pokemon with the following attributes:

>Light (Defenses)
>Immune to Dark type moves
>Resists Water, Fairy, and Fighting
>Weak against Psychic, Bug, and Grass

>Light (Offense)
>Strong against Dark, Water, Fairy and Fighting
>Resisted by Bug, Ice, and Fire
>Does no damage to Grass

Does this type seem balanced? Would you support it if gamefreak replaced grass type starters with light type starters?

Makes even less sense when the grass immunity implies physical light, yet the Dark res. and SE implies its supposed to be the "holy" element... which makes the Fighting res and SE make even LESS sense considering Fighting is already the "fist of justice" hence why it beats Dark to begin with.

Lightfags need to accept that they're fan type is conceptually dead on arrival. At best it could make it as a move property (ie. Sound) although even that is stepping on the toes of the beam/aura move category, most of which are light-based.

Typings in Pokemon at least make sense from a balance perspective if not from a logical one; yours lacks either a logical or balance-oriented justification. So, no, saying "Pokemon lacks logic" doesn't validate your illogical type concept. Find a better concept, Light Type is an outdated concept and, frankly speaking, was never a good counterpart to "Dark" type.

Prior to Fairy, a Holy type (inevitably localized as Light type) to oppose Evil type (localized as Dark) would’ve been a decent addition.

It is no longer needed however, and would be overly redundant due to Fairy.

Disappointing if correct. Would be cool if they finished at a nice round 20. I still think things like digital/cyber/virtual and plastic/rubber are halfway decent ideas, or even nuclear (inspired by Persona’s nuclear type)

Heroic things, against dark type, is covered by fighting & Bug.

No need for light type.

If you wanna buff Bug, make it effective against fairys. I don't know what to do to help Grass.

Just going to chime in here for a minute, Porygon conceptually is a Normal type because its entire gimmick revolved around using Conversion to change its typing mid-battle. Rotom has a similar concept but is Electric/Ghost because its based on a poltergeist, I don't think one is really better than the other at being a 'digital' Pokemon because they both have very different concepts.

Frankly speaking, a "digital" type is simply too shallow of a type concept.
