Suppose Abilities were removed from the games. What Pokemon would suffer the most? Which ones would be improved? Any pokemon gimmicks that would simply stop making sense?

With the exception of Slaking, Regigigas, Golisopod, and Archeops, every Pokemon would become worse. It's just a matter of to what extent.
Some mons would be indirectly helped. I'm sure ground types would appreciate Levitate being snapped out of existence.
