>>44566357You're not wrong about the undertaking. Something like in OP's pic would require cutting more Pokemon than SwSh did, or a very high budget and large production team.
But if the quality were that great, I'd find it worth it. Extra Pokemon could be handled by expansion passes or DLC offerings.
I personally don't expect anything like this, like you I'm pretty realistic about the games. But if enough effort, time, and budget were put into a BOTW style game it could happen.
What a game like this would be really great at is capturing the majesty of several species while they are in the wild. Actually large Pokemon (not Dynamax) would be amazing as a rare natural occurrence, or a legendary encounter like BOTW's dragons. Considering the picture documentation feature of the Sheikah slate, I wouldn't mind at all if a modern Pokemon Snap were the game to be made in this exact style. I don't need an open world with the tradition gyms and whatnot, and a game like this would need to be different from traditional offerings anyways.
All in all, if it were a side project with limited Pokemon but a different focus like Snap, it'd be a great addition to the franchise.
