>>44573709>>44573735It’s not too complex, and it makes the battles more balanced and realistic.
If you think
>i’m going for a fire move against this grass pokemonAnd the opposing trainer calls back their grass type, are you just going to wait until he brings out a water type to order your pokemon to use a fire move? If you have a better coverage move you can decide to use it before the opposing pokemon is going to be sent out.
Strategy is still there, if you choose to not switch, you cant change your decision after you know the opponent is switching out their mon, so you’ll still have to decide when to switch correctly.
If you have something like a ferrothorn against a pyroar, and you have a swampert in your team, you could switch into something like a scarf heracross, predicting a hidden power grass and outsmarting the other player.
It may seem you like i offered something too complex but its just this
>Beggining of the turnSwitch or attack
>After choosingSwitching pokemon go to their pokeballs. Now you both decide which attacks you’ll do, or if you switched, which pokemon is coming in.
I honestly can’t comprehend how anyone would prefer banning switches before this. Matches would just be decided on which pokemon you sent out first.
