It’s because /vp/ always underestimates bulk. 90/90/90 for example doesn’t seem like muh high numbers, but it’s deceptive- that’s a fucking lot of bulk, especially when combined with Steel/Flying and recovery.

Who wouldn't expect this to be good? Skarmory has worse stats overall except for slightly more physical bulk and he's OU by virtue of being Steel/Flying.

They don't underestimate bulk, they just underestimate how much hp contributes to bulk. As seen in the example below, things with paper defense can be very tanky by virtue of HP. Chansey can sponge stab eqs from a 170 attack pokemon by virtue of hp alone.

252+ Atk Garchomp-Mega Earthquake vs. 248 HP / 252+ Def Eviolite Chansey: 291-343 (41.3 - 48.7%) -- guaranteed 3HKO

People don't realise how much bulk corv's 30 hp difference over skarm actually provides in practice compared to the defense it loses.

Best regional bird design wise too. Never thought I’d ever have a regional bird as a bromon, it being versatile that can run defensive and offensive sets so effectively is the cherry on top.

Iron Defense + Body Press magnezone also sets up on and kills ferrothorn, and even excadrill with air balloon and grassy terrain up. You can also lure and kill Chansey / Blissey..

lol no, it’s literally just an owl. Even Hoothoot had the clock theme going. Noctowl is the shittiest bird mon ever designed, it looks terrible and ruined a perfectly good evolutionary line.

Magnezone outspeeds Corviknight.
Yes, Corviknight has a higher base speed, but it can't afford to invest enough in speed just to beat Magnezone because that'll hinder its ability to deal with everything else.

I never said magezone our speed Corviknight I just said that zone still takes a big chunk of damage from body press, magnezone can’t okho a typical Corviknight set thus magnezone takes a lot of damage from it and many opponents in high elo battles can predict the switch when they sense the zone is coming in.
