>>44574041The real issue isn't so much that the 2D looks better than 3D, but that the 3D is so fucking lackluster. With 2D we intrinsically accept that it's meant to look "bad" to some degree as it's outdated (Regardless of if any of that is true).
Meanwhile, Pokemon itself used to have better 3D in the past. The Stadium type games had much more energy to the animations, and arguably looked better as well.
When the main games started to get 3D models, the badness of them could somewhat be excused by being on the 3DS, but by now, especially with the bullshit claims that the Pokedex was cut to improve individual Pokemon in every way, like animations, there's no excuse for a N64 game to look better in any way than the real deal.
