I'll give you that, played it about a dozen times.
Was never able to complete it though, just never could work up the motivation to push on through victory road any time I played it until AS launched.

Agreed. Running shoes were a blessing, hell everything was fast paced and there were shortcuts everywhere, also doesnt suffer from an over abundance of cutscenes you can just immediately dive into the action

Agreed. I just did a fast runthrough and it was honestly still a ton of fun. Now I'm breeding a shitmon team for another run. I may use my sapphire cart to keep the frontier open though.

I think I’ve figured it out: SwSh fans appreciate the streamlined mechanics that allow you to get top-tier pokemon because they like battling online/against real people.

Old good, new bad people actually just like playing literal children’s games without any sort of desire to play with real people, they just want to roleplay as an 11-year old and feel good about beating barely-existent AI from decades ago

Why did they change it to a Zigzagoon? Poochyena made much more sense as an aggressive fucker chasing Birch, on top of Zigzagoon supposedly being unable to run in circles. It felt like one of those changes done purely for the sake of change.
