What do you think about it? I personally think it is a great way of customizing even further a Pokémon, no matter shiny or not.

My tism is:

I think the only time I broke this trend was a Shiny Manectric in a Quick Ball for XY

Nothing triggers me more than people on /vp/ catching non-water types in dive balls because 'matching color XD'

All my Pokemon go in regular balls except the following:

Sometimes I would decide not to use a pokemon on a playthrough, if I have other options and this pokemon have a matching ball in future generations. Like Medicham, I need it to be in a heal ball, so I didn't use it on gen 3.

I’ve pretty much gone to everything in a pokeballs except for the those that are gifted in other balls. Used to like master balls for legends, but over time I’ve come to the conclusion that the standard pokeball is too clean and iconic to not use. Also makes my party tab look clean when all 6 are in the same ball. And with dynamax raids having basically 100% catch rate, there’s no need to use anything else.

I can understand picking a ball when it's easy, like using a Premier Ball instead of a Pokeball, but obsessivley breeding or going out of your way to get something in a specific ball is obsessive.

Every Pokemon I have ever invested any amount of time into (EV training + raising) lives inside a luxury ball.
Everything else lives inside the classic pokeball.

In Diamond I wasted like 100 combined Ultra and Dusks on Regigigas who at 1 HP and asleep broke out of all of them, then happily went into a Heal Ball.
