It's a long shot, but are you running this game online? I'm running Pokemon Tabletop 3 and need maps. Knowing where to find things that fit the world of pokemon and not all old castles, dungeons, and taverns would be nice.

I think that surprise type changes are a little overdone. Shock value isn’t everything. The design has to do all the heavy lifting. Bug/Poison is a cool concept in and of itself. You can make it evolve into a mantisfly/scorpionfly. Or lean into the decaying vegetation idea and make the poison stem from a poison plant etc..

Lotta ways to skin that cat. Adding Fairy or Ghost at the last second introduces an incongruent element instead of building up from the being of the line. Undoing the validity of the previous stages by almost completely abandoning them for a shock

Yeah that Anon got it for the most part, it's old/ancient cities mixed with space terms. Florida has the oldest cities in the country (St. Augustine) along with Cape Canaveral and the Space Coast, so the idea of combining ancient cities and space was basically past vs future.

i get that there isnt a whole lot from the TCG to make a full game but (As someone whos trying to make a ROM of it) there is a good chunk of info and they completely did there own thing. that usually wouldnt bother me but any time i talk to people on other websites about it they say "Just play insurgence" or "I love Skeleton charizard" which makes it really hard to get any feed back :/

It doesn't really have to be fighting. There's not any martial arts incorporated in kantonian Primeape's design anyway, so it could just be fire and maybe have some other design element if you want dual typing.

any regional Pokemon that looks close to the original but follows a slightly different theme is absolute kino. but when people make regional mons that look radically different or try really hard to turn it into something completely different from what it was in terms of typing or theme, they really don't get it. At all. not a single one of the official regional forms radically alters the general theme of the original counterpart, and when the typing does change it's a logical change that makes logical sense based on the original Pokemon. Fire is a basic element, all those fire types becoming ice types kind of makes sense. Alolan marowak still uses the bone and the typing doesn't radically shift the core themeing or design of that Pokemon. Even stuff that seems unrelated, like corsola, still makes sense. most of the regional forms in this thread are actually really good and fit something similar to an official design, but believe me it's fucking so stupid when people do shit like draw Psyduck is an actual platypus with crazy spikes and call it a poison dark type just because. how the fuck does that make sense based on the flavor of Psyduck? and why are you radically shifting the silhouette of that Pokemon's design without a logical reason other than you wanted something that looked cool and was a poison type? no I don't have autism but this kind of shit makes me feel like I should

a dark/steel iron maiden waifumon would be pretty cool, but I don't think it needs to be a mega. Just make opening its attack animation. Probably functionally statted to be a trapper with high defense and some kind of steel sand tomb variant.

Most of the locale are figured out and I'm currently fleshing out the newest line of gym leaders, but at the very least every city's pretty fully formed. Routes are a little less prepared since there's some new ones I've drawn up and I haven't accounted for how the setting's changed (also I forgot to number them again lul) but I won't get back to that 'til I've finished with all the important characters.
