Is there a reason to play Go anymore? what do you even get for being a lv50 trainer or owning 2 gyms? and if i wanted Melmetal, i can just trade for some

Go is the main series game and Galarbage is the spinoff. If I ever need to get my Pokémon fix, I'm sure as hell not buying a spinoff game.

Also, probably one of the reasons SWSH sold that much is thanks to GO, along with switch popularity

The same point as playing other games. Be on top in pvp, get shinies and legendaries, fight raid bosses, catch pokemon like they're really there, have buddy pokemon, and all the other mobile game appeals there are. Really not a tough concept here

Also, I play Pokémon Go exclusively now since I realized not only the MSG are for brain damaged people who don't mind paying money for literal shit, but also I get plenty more satisfaction from getting my mons in Go (and actually using a lot of them) than I ever did in the MSG, perhaps excluding the first two gens when I was a kid and the franchise was actually exciting.

There’s plenty to do. Sure it’s kind of janky sometimes, mostly with PvP and special events, but 99% of the time the game runs fine and offers a lot of different stuff to do.
