Heatran is a really cool design. I like the metallic fragments across its body, the distribution of orange spots as if the heat is deforming it, and the face looks mean enough to be a threat, but while still looking like a pokemon.

I mean, we’re eight generations in, and we have over a thousand Pokémon, forms included, but there are still tons of unused and underused type combinations. Even in gen 1 there were scores of grass/poison and normal/flying types, far more than we needed or wanted. I just don’t think they give a shit about evenly distributing type combinations at all.

After I noticed this when looking at egg steps per species I believed that it was intended to have a pre-evolution of some sort, preferably in Phione's place.
But I don't think the Gen 4 leaks showed anything of the sort, so I don't know anymore. Not enough crumbs to follow on this schizo trail.
