Its stats are better and it does get Brutal Swing and Focus Blast. The anime's made a point of the whole Hyper Beam thing, but its not really that important when you got Volt Tackle. I assume its just a pride deal with Pikachu or maybe he has a Light Ball shoved up his ass.

Pokemon in the anime are actualy creatures with their own personalities, not just lines of code. Stop trying to include game logic into the anime that has rhydon get knocked out by an electric attack.

Reminds me of the ultra cringe that was the episode of that pokemon trainer school with the kid who believed in type advantages and Ash's Pikachu just beats his Cubone and he shames the kid for trying to play pokemon battles like they should be played.
