What's the point of this type? There are literally only 2 good normal types and one is a 720 BST legendary, and the other one would be way stronger if it were Fairy or Water.

The point is just to represent the fact that the world is full of creatures that don't have any particular elemental leaning. They're just "normal" creatures.

because not all pokemon need to be min maxed shit, and you have at least 10 good normal types and 10% including not fully evolved seems like a pretty decent list

The issue with normal is than is almost the same as dragon an offensive type but Normal types dont have multiple pseudos.

Given they dropped the idea of having ghost pokemon be incorporeal like they were supposed to be in gen 1, they should make normal neutral to ghost both offensively and defensively.
