Whether or not you agree with how Game Freak has been dealing with the jump to 3D, this is a nice piece of information.

Imagine how the game would've looked fully worked on. Things like a story mode for the stadium leaders to flesh them out would've been great.

I assume preparation is the pre-planning, writing up the game design document, that sort of thing. But if the 3D models aren't in that 10 month span, who knows how long it took. Although a lot of them are just upgraded stuff from as far back as Stadium. Now imagine that twofold, since the Pokemon have nearly doubled since then. I wouldn't want to have to deal with that shit, personally.

Even if it isn't a "story mode" giving stories to the characters we battle would've helped the game a lot more. Instead of just battling random characters.
