Once at a tourney I ran a hypnosis/perish set that made some guy tardrage so hard he ragequit both matches he played against me in and stopped treating me like a human being for the rest of the event.
What I’m saying is, you should totally run both of them at the same time and great times/hilariously over the top ‘tism-skisms will follow.

Depends on the rest of the team. If you have toxic spikes, for example, hypnosis becomes much less valuable. Assuming your team doesn't inflict status heavily as part of the game plan, hypnosis is good just for disabling an enemy check/counter temporarily. Perish is great on its own, but unless your pokemon is a real tank that can live all of those turns, its use is dependent on whether or not you can stall out the enemy while the timer runs down. If you can, though, it's a great stopper against setup pokemon.

If you’re looking for a singles mon to fill a niche role, just run like, spore or sleep powder.

If you’re looking for doubs, perish song can close out entire games and it’s really not all that bad.

Nope, switching out a Pokémon will remove its perish status though (which is why shadow taggers/arena trappers are important on landing the hit.)
I have a setup with two singers and I like to switch to my second singer on the last turn of my first singer’s perish song counter.
