Some of them do, depending on which meme tier it is.
Metronome battle isn't one of them, of course, since it's all RNG. Same with Randbats to a lesser extent.
But having a high Elo in something like Mix & Mega or STABmons actually requires skill.

OM are based. I think like Balanced Hackmons in particular requires thinking about pokemon a completely different way than OU. The mechanics knowledge to be good at some of these OM is pretty high.

People stating a set number show they don't actually participate all that much in the Showdown community. Each metagame has their own standard level where it's considered the cutoff point between low elo hell and competent players. It's also determined by the maturity of the metagame at a given time. GXE is also important as someone could potentially grind past elo hell from shear will rather than being actually good and their GXE would reflect this.

1700 means you're not just okay, but actually good. I'll take your word over common sense.
And 1900 is expert level. With that Elo, you could recommend Ledian and I'd believe you.

If someone put in thousands of matches and coinflipped up they probably at least learned enough to have their post worth reading. GXE is definitely worth looking at but its contextual. Its more of something I'd use to discount somebody who I would normally listen to and less of something I'd use as a deciding factor in itself.

You could just make an account and speedrun up low/mid ladder to get 80+ GXE easily, and if you get haxed on game or something just make another one. You never have to play someone good, just seal club shitters.
