>>44601492Because giving something with a 130BP auto-crit STAB move actually extremely strong offensive stats would make Pex cancerous in an entirely different way. I've actually fought a decent amount of Merciless Pex before, and trust me, Venoshock on a poisoned target can very often lead to almost instant kills due to how hard it actually hits on top of the additional 12% from poison damage.
For the record, Venoshock essentially has a BP of 292 when these conditions are met, and coupled with the constant damage from poison, it actually hits much harder than you'd expect. GF just fucked it all up by giving it Regenerator, which led to this being neglected.

It doesn't even learn fucking Rock Throw or Smack Down, much less Stone Edge. Again, GF are the same people who genuinely though that Regenerator on Pex wouldn't detract from it's main gimmick and that Aegislash would almost 100% be used as a physical sweeper only. They clearly didn't actually think Grassy Glide would make Rillaboom as strong as it is, and Rillaboom probably only has Grassy Surge in the first place because three other Galar Mons got the other surge abilities and they might as well give it to the grass starter.
I'm not complaining since I love Rillaboom, but he was pretty clearly designed with obvious holes in his movepool and Game Freak really doesn't like him at all if how they treat him is any indication (his line was skipped over in the fucking Cafe Game for Dragonite while Scorbunny debued first, and Grookey hasn't even appeared in the anime at all yet).
