I like Megas infinitely more, but Dynamax beats Mega in a 1v1 almost every time. Straight up doubling a Pokemon's bulk is worth more in raw stats than the Mega boost on anything with a base HP stat above 30, while the power boost of max moves on top of items like Life Orb still being available to Max users means that they blow past all but the most ridiculously offensively optimized Megas on that front as well. Fucking LO Dynamax Pidgeot has a stronger "Hurricane" than Mega Pidgeot, and then gets to be even faster than the Mega once it uses the move to boot:
>252 SpA Life Orb Pidgeot Max Airstream (Hurricane) vs. 252 HP / 0 SpD Landorus-Therian: 239-282 (62.5 - 73.8%) -- guaranteed 2HKO after Leftovers recovery
>252 SpA Pidgeot-Mega Hurricane vs. 252 HP / 0 SpD Landorus-Therian: 222-262 (58.1 - 68.5%) -- guaranteed 2HKO after Leftovers recovery

Pretty sure it was whomever came before Raihan, which makes more sense. They know having Lance simp to a newbie like Raihan himself would be overboard.

Relatively minor compared to the other simping that's going on.

I've already accepted what the intent of Galar is to be. I don't need my favorite characters to be the strongest, and not being so makes them flawed and relatable.

Galar is the Pokemon superpower, explicitly meant to be battle obsessive & powerful. The strongest survive and the weak perish is Galarian society.
