Johto was intentionally forgettable according to its fans. Hoenn was just before the time that having a pokemon to focus on became standard.

More like Gold/Silver were direct sequels to Gen 1 games and didn’t follow the jew reset formula introduced in later gens. But I guess this is too much for zoomer mind to comprehend.

The game still turned out to be the funniest playthrough so who really gives a shit about the lack of mons. I'm sure if the next gen contained almost no new mons but the story wasn't some handholding retard run, nobody would care.

I like Johto, just saying it like it is. I also had problems with Kanto in gen 2 but that's forgivable due to hardware limitations, they fixed it a bit in the remakes but iirc Silph and the Kanto Radio Tower are still walled off and that really gets to me, among other things like Mt. Moon and the Seafoam Islands.

Zoroark was pretty much the lone failure of the bunch, though gens after have since tried shotgunning multiple anthro shillmons at a time in hopes at least one stuck
