I personally love when he's shown playing with small Pokemon like Mimikyu or Cursola while the bigger ones pull pranks on him or act like his guardians. Another thing I love to see in fanart is when he's paired with Bea in a sort of little brother-big sister relationship. It makes me imagine a headcanon where Bea and Allister live together and she takes care of him, motivating him to be a more cheerful boy and defending him from perverts and weirdows.
