Speaking of which, the follower pokémon works against the tension. In the original you were alone with the strongest trainer in the entire region, both sprites completely static. Here, you've got some sprite bopping up and down behind you, can't even see your own back. The colours are completely neutral, whereas in the original it featured an aggressive combination of gold and pitch black. I liked the weather effect however.
