They're all pretty interesting cause I recall hearing a lot of Gen 1 Pokemon were designed as a sprite first, so it's interesting to see how they evolved from that

I think it's interesting too. Does that mean that Ken Sugimori redesigned every Pokemon? Did he make any of the sprites? Why didn't he make the Pokemon he designed look how they look in his art if he made the sprite? It's all very weird.

Scyther looks pretty badass. When I was a kid I preferred the Yellow sprites over the RB ones, but now I appreciate the deformed, monstrous look of the original sprites.

G/S 1997 demo has a lot of evidence that Blue's sprites are very early Gold sprites, or at least the two shared a common base.

Some sprites in SpaceWorld '97 are clearly too cartoony or well designed to fit with the Blue/gen 1 aesthetic, but then you have things like pic related.

Parasect's back in the demo uses the Gen 1 scheme and it goes off model by standing on it's whole body. A very Gen 1 trait and once again likely a leftover from pre-SpaceWorld Gen 2.
