It needed either an ability for this or to be reworked as a Steel/Grass Type. I know it's green because of copper, but at the same time Indian elephants are associated with jungles and I don't think it'd be too hard to compare such a large, lumbering animal to a tree in some way.

That's a pretty consistent thing throughout the series. Pokemon's weaknesses only apply to attacks from other Pokemon. A Fire, Ground, Rock Pokemon can still drink water and bathe in it with no harm. A Quagsire can stand on grass. Throwing a rock at a Charizard won't do anything but piss it off.

If Zapdos got Drizzle, it could more easily utilize Thunder with its increased accuracy, and maybe get Hurricane as a bonus STAB move. Plus it also learns Rain Dance. If it gets Drizzle, then it wouldn't need to waste an extra turn to set up. Plus Drizzle is far more useful than Pressure, Static, or Lightningrod

My bad but even so that's not good enough reason for Bronzong (a pokemon said to summon rain) not getting Drizzle when Politoed and Pelipper (two pokemon that don't) do.

not really... drizzle would weaken lunatone (reduced healing from Moonlight, even weaker to water etc). If anything it should get Drought as well, because the moon is reflecting the sun, but thats a FAR stretch

Bronzong with Drizzle could be actually pretty good. It doesn't have to care about electric types as much as Pelipper or Politoed.

And can also set Hazards and Screens.
