They do have optimal natures, but that's about it.

Even giving them preset advantages isn't enough if you want them to be challenging. The romhacker is encouraging you to make use of the options you do have instead of finding one or two particularly broken mons and blowing through the game.
And even then it's fucking Kaizo, it's not supposed to be remotely fair.
