You're forgetting that Ice Type Pokémon don't usually attack with pure cold. Ice attacks are most often using literal ice such as an icicle or something like that to attack. Ice has absolutely no hope of scratching steel.

You could still incorporate the fact that metal gets brittle and shatters easily at low temperatures, but for it to actually make sense you wouldn't make it as a straight up Type interaction. That's a niche scenario. Most of the time Ice attacks are like Ice Fang 'n' shit, that ain't touching Steel Types.

Grass and Dragon are living organism types so it's the part about cold that's relevant. Steel is a hard physical material so it's more about how ice cannot scratch metal.

Different Type interactions exist for different reasons in logic, deal with it. It straight up doesn't fucking make sense that Steel would be weak to Ice and you're really reaching if you keep saying it

Pretty sure it's not the case, maybe OP is thinking of Poison since their colors are somewhat in the same area?

In any case, Poison could use a small offensive buff and Bug desperately needs a good one.

I actually think Rock SHOULD resist Ghost, though. I'm not really sure how common this myth is, I always just assumed it was well heard of growing up but I guess maybe it isn't. . . . Ghosts can't phase through brick walls.

Okay but the cold itself doesn't actually hurt the metal. It makes the metal glasslike so that it breaks from impact. This should be an Ice move that drastically lower's steel's defense for something. It's such a rare obscure thing that it shouldn't be what the default Type interaction is. Of course a metal monster isn't going to be hurt by getting Icicle Spear'd in the face.

You use salt to melt snow and ice, because it lowers its freezing point and it becomes water, regular water just becomes more ice in cold enviroments thus Ice type should resist water.

the problem is pokemon is a kids game or else they'd implement more interesting abilities like Salazzles "able to poison steel types" or "Freeze dry" being 2x against water.
I wouldn't mind like, 1/4 of ice type moves being SE against steel, similarly related certain ground type moves have "tags" where they can hit flying types
