The more I look at designs like Cinderace, Inteleon, Obstagoon, Urshifu,l and Toxtricity the more I'm convinced they are someones fursonas given the title of "Pokemon." Not one them look natural, they are far too individualistic to be monsters. They ooze personality, that's about it. Not only that they also happen to suffer from design cluttter imo. Cinderaces head is atrociousa and it's like they quit with the rest of it's body. Urshifu is a cluster fuck, Obstagoon to a lesser extent than Urshifu. Toxtricity just has too much going on. It's saturated color pallete doesn't help it either. Inteleon, to a lesser extent than Toxtricity. It's not even just because they are bipedal, it's they they were executed. They gave them design features and behaviors that aren't indicative of a species but of a character.
I'll say this, I can see a group of Rillaboom in the wild, but it's hard to image wild Cinderace or Inteleon.
Again I'm not even opposed to furrybait designs in general, just as long as they are executed well and look appealing.
