>>44659018Yeah, Gen 4 and on have that same flatness to them, I don't know how else to put it. Some of his Gen 3 art does, and some doesn't. There's a very distinct difference between the coloring on his Ruby/Sapphire art and the art that was done for Emerald and onwards. The style got different too, you can see stockier bodies on the R/S art than you get with Emerald and FR/LG but the colors are most noticeable. I don't know if that was the digital shift or if it was just digitally colored, but there was TCG art as early as Gen 2 from Sugimori that had coloring that wasn't as watercolor-looking, similar to the R/S art using softer colors and white highlights but not looking desaturated.
