I see no reason why they couldn't just both have one, but Hop's can G-Max (cause the protag would obviously have a different g-max like Cinderace or Toxtricity)

I dunno, but Victor is always shown with Scorbunny and Gloria with Sobble so they’d definitely have those two.

Add in some giftmons like Toxtricity, the wolf, and that ugly dlc bear mon to their teams and you’re good.

These are canon teams, anon. They're almost never "competitive" to any degree.

You have a point, but also ferrothorn completes the grass/fire/water core for the cinderace team and Excadrill gives some ground coverage but you could replace Excadrill with one of the wolves if you want
