Psychic and dark could also work, maybe a fire/dark could end up being the easiest way of giving it the popularity a starter should have. It could have a similar color palette to incineroar and could more easily be liked by those that like more edgy or intimidating designs.

I like them, but I don't get the "fully evolved starter" energy from the last one. I'd give more fire feathers, mainly on its head, but perhaps some on its tail, and maybe decorate its head a bit more, kinda like pic related, but less eagle.
Also, putting them side by side makes the last one look so tiny, and less intimidating.

It's a fire/steel

Its spits its tongue out so quick that it can ignite a flame

On it's head are "feathers" which are actually firecrackers. It uses its tongue to flick the fuses and swings it's head to create explosions on the enemies.
The legs are for speed, and the bumps on its back are a steel plating that protects itself from the explosions
