If OU isn’t that fun for you, I’d recommend lower tiers. Don’t know much about gen 8 UU, but I remember other UUs being fun

Go to the OU room and copy a team from the premades. Once you get a good feeling for what each mon is supposed to do for a team, you can start making your own teams. Of course, you could also just start spamming shitmons like most of low ladder does.

The best way to get good is to get experience. Use a sample team and jump right in.
Don't try building your own team right away. It's better to use teams you already know are good so you can be sure the problem is with your gameplay and not teambuilding.
