there's too many damn pokemon. it should just be 20-30 GOOD new ones per gen plus new starters and a few legendaries

What if you had a time machine and introduced the idea of regional variants Gamefreak before Gen 2. Then Gens 2 thru 8 could have had ~75 new mons / ~50-75 regional variants.

I almost agree, yeah. I think every generation since (and including) Gen 2 should've had an amount similar to XY. Just 1-3 lines per type starters and legendaries for a total of about 60-70 new Pokemon per gen.

Actually if I were to break it down better
>9 (starter lines)
>40-50 brand new mons

Too many of them are uninteresting legendaries and mythicals meant to pad out the post game and or shill a movie. Legendary pokemon should be rare, have neat lore you learn if you want to through playing, and be a challenge to obtain beyond walking into their cave and fighting them. The regis are a great example of nox-boxart legendary pokemon done right and I hope the two new regis continue that trend.

The mythical inflation is fucking dumb. I don't mind any of their designs but all the mythicals after Gen V seem forgettable to me because they have no lore and are given to you by an NPC except for Victini. Why can't the movie mons be found in-game?

Who would be upset if Zarude could be found in a little jungle area or something rather than getting some dumb online Japanese movie ticket. Like maybe Marshadow can be in the graveyard in Alola, etc.

the Pokemon Company owns Brand and IP while GameFreak makes the games. Besides I doubt the Pokemon Company produces the toys or cards themselves but another party deals with production and distribution. All gamefreaks needs to sell millions of copys and they are sold really well this time I do believe. The Japanese game makers don't see our American crys and see no reason to increase quality of the game when the children who their target audience is will want this game and hopefully the next one if their still young enough by the next one.
