>>44683635Given how shameless GF was at imitating Yokai Watch in gen 7, they should take a page out of Shin Megamj Tensei and let you "negotiate" with Pokemon. You could try giving them berries, pokeblocs/poffins, petting, whatever, with a few rounds of the player and the pokemon reacting to each other. If it fails the battle starts normally. You could keep normal captures for legendaries, or even for normal mons but if you fight them for capture you get them with less happiness.
Or maybe first you beat the Pokemon and afterwards you interact with it
