Imagine...How would the franchise have evolved if Gen2 developed upon the themes of Gen1?
Breeding, Nightime, Dark Steel..etc may have remained BUT the main difference would be no ancient lore. Pokemon are recent and many are still unown to the public.Maybe they are aliens, maybe from the moon? Legendaries are just rare, untamable regal beasts.
